Dislocate
Acrobatic, Aerial & Physical Theatre
…a stunning display of theatrical acrobatics which would make most circus companies jealous.
Brian Lavery, Irish Independent
Dislocate is one of Australia's leading independent ensembles and was founded by Kate Fryer and Geoff Dunstan as a vehicle to create physical theatre that breaks boundaries - by combining risk taking highly skilled circus feats with more traditional narratives.
The Dislocate Company involves and astounds. The actor/acrobats reveal extraordinary talents…Part theatre, part circus, a bit of magic. Corriere Mercantile, Italy
Repertoire ranges from solo and duo aerial acts, large outdoor spectaculars and physical theatre productions including Risk Reduction, The Arrivalists, Mission Improbable, 3 Speed Crunch Box, La Familia, Growing Up, The Million Dollar Mermaid, The Key, The Has Beens and roving street theatre piece Quiet on Set. Recent world premiere seasons include Curiosity (Arts Centre Melbourne, Sept 2010), Whipped (Hoopla Festival Sydney, April 2011) and Unit 4 (Seymour Centre Sydney, Oct 2011)
I can't imagine anything will, or could, outclass this, in any theatre, in what remains of the year. It'd be hard to imagine it being outclassed in any given year. I'd make a point of seeing anything you can by Dislocate, and this world premiere production, in particular.

Incredibly fine-tuned performances in a wonderful, thoroughly enjoyable show that enchants the imagination. Memories within a building really do live on. Rating 4 stars ****

The heroes are the performers. Collectively they combine to create a force of physical theatre that is inspired and nail bitingly astounding - their bravery is compelling especially given they are working largely without safety harnesses.
