Clara Iaccarino

Producer

Clara graduated from UTS with a BA (Communications) in 2001. She is the co-founder and executive producer of MAKEbeLIVE Productions, an independent production company propelled by the magic of the arts. Co-founded in 2005 with Holly Austin and Marisa Snow, MAKEbeLIVE has produced a number of theatre works including Richard 3 and Twelfth Night (Siren Theatre Co); the cabaret-comedy Connie Chang’s Cabaret Roadshow (Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Great Escape Festival, Cracker Comedy Festival); The Illusion (Relaxed & Comfortable/Darlinghurst Theatre Co); Checklist for an Armed Robber (B Sharp) and To the Green Fields Beyond (TRS Old Fitzroy Theatre). MAKEbeLIVE also produces festivals (Fiesta Cubana) and the jam night/artistic happening, WOOJam.

Clara is also a journalist. She worked for The Sun-Herald and The Sydney Morning Herald as a feature writer and arts reporter and continues to freelance for various publications. She has worked as a reporter and producer for news services at a number of major events including the Torino Winter Olympics, Doha Asian Games, the Rugby World Cup in France and the Beijing Olympic Games.
